چکیده

56 CONCLUSIONS: Partial muscle graft RPNIs transmit detectable EMG signals with a 75% success rate at 4 months. This proof of concept feasibility underscores the potential to develop and refi ne partial muscle graft-based interfaces to harness peripheral nerve signals for high-fi delity prosthetic control in amputees. While signal size remains favorable (i.e. 10-50 times larger than signals recorded directly from peripheral nerves),5 further studies are warranted for optimization of partial muscle graft regeneration and methods of signal acquisition.

Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction Does Not Compromise the Regenerative Potential of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells

Human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have recently become a focus of regenerative medicine, both for their multilineage differentiation capacity and their excretion of proregenerative cytokines. Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) are of particular interest because of their abundance in fat tissue and the ease of harvest via liposuction. However, little is known about the impact of dif...

Does the liposuction method influence the phenotypic characteristic of human adipose-derived stem cells?

Adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) possess a high differentiation and proliferation potential. However, the phenotypic characterization of ASCs is still difficult. Until now, there is no extensive analysis of ASCs markers depending on different liposuction methods. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to analyse 242 surface markers and determine the differences in the phenotypic pattern b...

Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cells Isolated after Manual or Water-jet-Assisted Liposuction Display Similar Properties

Mesenchymal stem or stromal cells (MSC) are under investigation in many clinical trials for their therapeutic potential in a variety of diseases, including autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. One of the main sources of MSCs is the adipose tissue, which is mainly obtained by manual liposuction using a cannula linked to a syringe. However, in the past years, a number of devices for fat liposuc...

Liposuction devices: technology update

Since its introduction by Illouz and others over 30 years ago, suction-assisted lipectomy/liposuction/lipoplasty has evolved tremendously and has developed into one of the most popular procedures in aesthetic plastic surgery. Liposuction is an effective procedure employed to treat localized adipose deposits in patients not suffering from generalized obesity. These accumulations of subcutaneous ...

Liposuction: review of the techniques, innovations and applications.

Liposuction is currently the most frequently performed aesthetic operation in the world. Despite its wide-spread popularity, it should nevertheless be stated that it is not trivial surgery, not always benign and not as safe as intimated in the glossy office brochures. Since the initial description of liposuction, numerous changes have taken place. Today, surgical indications are well defined an...
